Strengthening ethical judgement across a global humanitarian organisation

Following a major organisational transformation, a global humanitarian organisation sought to strengthen accountability and enable more consistent, values-led decision-making across its international operations.

The Challenge

A leading global humanitarian organization operating in more than 100 countries was seeking to strengthen decision-making following the integration of multiple national entities into a global operating model. While commitment to purpose remained strong, leaders faced challenges around accountability, consistency and applying organisational values in complex operating environments.

How we helped

Principia conducted an independent assessment of culture, governance and decision-making across the organization. Through surveys, interviews, focus groups and systems review, we identified the factors shaping how decisions were made and where leaders needed greater support to apply values and purpose in practice

Impact

The organization strengthened accountability, improved leadership decision-making and introduced new impact measures that connected decisions more closely to mission and purpose. Leaders gained clearer insight into how to make consistent, values-led decisions across diverse global contexts.
